What can you expect from Central?
Refreshment

Some people are just tired. They've been going through the motions for a long time and are bogged down with the heaviness of life. When God's people come together, there is a reason to celebrate! We have hope! Our desire is that you will find the Spirit of Jesus Christ at work ...so that times of refreshing may come from the presence of the Lord. (Acts 3:19)

Relevance

The Word of God is living and active, and we believe it is sufficient to address all the needs of mankind. It has specific relevance for your life. It is not just a history book written by men who had unusual wisdom - it is the revelation of God Himself through His Son, Jesus Christ. The goal of all our teaching is to allow the Holy Spirit to reveal the application of His Word to our lives, so our hearts can be changed and we can become more like Jesus Christ. We are interested in heart-knowledge, not just head knowledge.

Realness

When any family gathers together, there are times of joy and times of sadness. We are a family, united by the blood of Jesus Christ. When we meet together, we expect the family to encourage one another, to laugh and cry with one another, to bear with and to grow and support one another. We tend toward less formality and more genuineness and authenticity.

Equipping

The purpose of leaders is to equip the saints for works of service. You can expect us to help identify your unique spiritual gift and be challenged and equipped to actively use that gift in service to the Lord.

Shepherding

Our leadership takes personal responsibility for shepherding the flock for which God has made us overseers. We are concerned and will take an active part of your spiritual welfare.

What is expected of you?
You are a minister and servant

You are a minister! (I Peter 2:9) As Christians, we are expected to use our God-given talents and abilities in those areas of service (ministry) for which he has equipped us. Yes, God has called us to servanthood. (Matthew 20:25-28) As servants for Christ's sake, we are to submit to one another out of reverence for Christ; (Ephesians 5:21) and submit to God (James 4:7) and to our elders as the spiritual overseers of the church. (Hebrews 13:17)

You are called to grow, not remain stagnant

God has also called for us to grow up! Spiritual growth is facilitated by meeting together in large and small groups. (Hebrews 10:25) Our 2:42 Home Fellowship Groups offer an opportunity for fellowship, prayer and study. Our Praise Gatherings provide a time for large group dynamics. We encourage participation in our Praise Gatherings and in one of our 2:42 groups. Of course, there is no substitute for personal Bible study and prayer.

You are encouraged to practice stewardship

Because the Bible clearly teaches that all we have is from God, we are expected to be a good steward of ALL our possessions. (II Corinthians 8:1-5 and 9:6-7, Luke 12:34) The Lord is concerned about how we use our time, our talents, and our resources. Giving to His work is only a part of our responsibility in stewardship. He is also concerned how we live out our faith by our lifestyle.

A good measurement of over-extension in finances is:   1) Are you practicing the tithe? (Malachi 3:10)   2) Are you providing for your family? (1 Timothy 5:8)   3) Do you have enough left over to help others in need? (James 2:15-16)
